Co-Head of Markets, Asia-Pacific
Justin Chan is Co-head of Markets for Asia-Pacific at HSBC, based in Hong Kong. He shares leadership of the Bank’s sales and trading businesses in the region, encompassing Rates, Foreign Exchange, Credit, Equities and Research, and also oversees Balance Sheet Management in Hong Kong.
Mr Chan is also at the forefront of HSBC’s efforts to champion the internationalisation of the renminbi through product innovation, regulatory dialogue and advocacy.
Since joining HSBC in 1986 in Hong Kong, Mr Chan has held various responsibilities, including in corporate sales, money markets and interest rates and foreign exchange trading. He left for Australia for two years before re-joining the Group in 1998 to run the Hong Kong dollar trading business, where he has built a strong franchise.
Mr Chan is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is an Executive Board Member and the Chairman of the Market Development Committee of the Treasury Markets Association in Hong Kong and a member of the China Development Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers.
Mr Chan graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Australia.

Sim Ee Cheah is an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asia-Pacific Equity Derivatives Structuring team, and is based in Hong Kong. Her team is responsible for the development of investor products including Investable Indices; structuring of bespoke transactions linked to flow and exotic equity products and managed investments.
Sim Ee joined J.P. Morgan from Credit Suisse in 2015. She has 14 years of experiences in equities derivatives and cross asset investible indices, during which she has held the roles in sales, structuring, trading and quantitative modelling.

Daniel subsequently founded Tripod Management in 1999, focusing in alternative investment strategies. Over the years, Daniel has established himself as one of the pioneers in hedge fund investing in Asia, allocated to over 100 hedge funds globally. Keith Noyes is the former Regional Director, Asia Pacific at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), Inc.
Mr Noyes is based in Hong Kong and from October 2007 to May 2019 headed ISDA’s offices in Hong Kong and Singapore. One of his areas of interest is extraterritoriality and global regulatory conflict, subjects on which has published several articles and made numerous presentations.
Mr Noyes served as an invited industry consultant in the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission Product Advisory Committee and an invited external consultant reviewing the OTC Clearing Syllabus for the Hong Kong Securities Institute. Mr Noyes was the co-chair of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority/Treasury Markets Association working group on Hong Kong clearing and member of the committee on benchmark reform.
Mr Noyes joined ISDA in October 2007. He is fluent in Mandarin and English. He is a pioneer in the Asian derivatives markets, setting up Merrill Lynch’s equity derivatives desk in Hong Kong in 1992. Over the past two decades he has worked in Asia for such firms as Taiwan Securities, Bear Stearns Asia Limited and S.G. Warburg.

For the last 30 years Tony has specialised in securities finance with roles in stock borrowing and lending, repo, product management, business planning, sales, relationship management, marketing and collateral management. Commencing in 1989 with Enskilda Securities, he set-up a stock borrowing and lending operation for the proprietary trading desk. Tony has also created and managed securities lending arrangements at both Commercial Union Investment Management and Sun Life Investment Management. Tony initially merged the stock lending desks of Sun Life and AXA Equity & Law before moving to Global Head of Business Planning and Marketing for AXA Investment Managers. It was at AXA in 1999 when Tony first travelled to Asia for a PASLA (Pan-Asia Securities Lending Association) conference from which point his association with, and focus on, Asia began.

Narayanan Somasundaram is the Hong Kong Bureau Chief for Risk.net. He has been a journalist for more than 15 years, with his career spanning news and features for two of the world’s largest news organisations – Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg.
Narayanan led coverage of Australian financial services, regulation and the frothy real estate market with a series of features that underscored the build-up of risk in the nation’s property market.

Brian is co-chair of the RegTech Committee of the Fintech Association of Hong Kong, sits on IEEE’s Global AI Ethics Initiative Policy Committee and is an author in the forthcoming The AI Book and The RegTech Book on AI governance.

Gordon Tsui heads the fixed income team at Taikang Asset Management (Hong Kong), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China’s leading life insurer Taikang Insurance Group Inc. Prior to joining Taikang, Gordon was Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Hang Seng Investment Management and Lead Fund Manager of Hang Seng RMB Bond Fund, which won the “Best in Class” award in 2014 for “RMB Bond” category in Hong Kong by Bloomberg Businessweek. Gordon obtained first class honours degree in Economics from the LSE on full scholarship awarded by Hong Kong SAR Government. APAC Regional Audit Director AML and Compliance
Oonagh is the APAC Audit Director for AML and Compliance at Citi Bank, covering 16 countries across the region and leading a team of 32 audit professionals. Originally trained as a lawyer, she has over 16 years’ experience in Regulatory and Financial Crime Risk Compliance functions, holding both local and regional head positions in various Financial Institutions in both Europe and APAC, working with numerous regulators. Her recent move into Internal Audit was driven by her desire to take her SME skill sets from the 2LOD and bring them to the 3LOD where they could be used as be part of developing a forward looking audit methodology.

Pardha Viswanadha is the Product Manager responsible for delivering the Regulatory Risk solution within Calypso, with specific focus on FRTB for Market Risk, SACCR/IMM for Counterparty Credit Risk and XVA for IFRS 13 reporting. Prior to this role, Pardha has worked in the banking industry for over 18 years in a variety of roles across various jurisdictions, including Chicago, Delhi and Singapore. He has worked with top tier banks like Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, Bank of America and DBS bank, where he has built considerable experience in the areas of Counterparty Credit Risk (with BoA), Credit Derivatives (BNP and DBS) and Project Finance (Deutsche and SBI). Sally Wong is the Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association, which is a non-profit-making organisation that represents the asset management industry in Hong Kong. She represents the industry in liaising with the authorities, legislators, media and other stakeholder groups to discuss issues that have implications to the Hong Kong mutual fund market and the Mandatory Provident Fund (“MPF”) Schemes market. She also takes an active role in investor education and research initiatives.
Ms Wong is a member of the 7th Steering Committee on ChinaBond Indices Experts of the China Central Depository and Clearing Co., Ltd. and a core member of the China Ageing Finance Forum 50. She is a Vice President of Hong Kong Green Finance Association (“HKGFA”) and is the Co-chair of ESG Disclosure and Integration Working Group under HKGFA. She sits on the SFC Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts, the SFC Public Shareholders Group, MPF Guidelines Committee and the Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee. She sits on the Board of the International Investment Funds Association (www.iifa.ca).
Josephine has more than 15 years’ experience in risk management with regional exposures and worked in Sydney and Hong Kong prior to relocating to Malaysia. She has rich expertise as both a risk management practitioner and consultant.
Josephine has vast industry knowledge specifically in financial institutions, insurance, asset management, payment systems operators, development financial institutions and government-linked companies. This includes both conventional and Islamic principles businesses. Additionally, her role involved liaising with the local regulators of the regional countries.

Tim Woodward, Head of Global Markets Compliance for the APAC Region, based in Hong Kong. Tim has over 30 years of work experience, with 15 years of experience in various APAC Compliance leadership roles for Regulatory Reform, Monitoring & Surveillance, Outsourcing and Equities/Prime/Listed Derivatives Compliance. Immediately prior to joining BNP Paribas, Tim was JP Morgan’s Asia Head of Regulatory Reform Compliance and Global Head of CIB Outsourcing Compliance. In 15 years prior to moving to Compliance, Tim held various COO and operational roles for JP Morgan related entities, and started his career as a qualified accountant with Ernest & Young. Although based in Hong Kong for most of his career, Tim has also worked in Tokyo, Mumbai, New York and London.
Malcolm Wright is Chief Compliance Officer at Diginex and is based in Hong Kong. Prior to this, Malcolm was Chief Compliance Officer at a leading FinTech unicorn. In his earlier career, Malcolm held senior several leadership roles within Thomson Reuters’s anti-financial crime business, including overseeing the development and launch of World-Check One and sitting on the leadership that brought the world’s first KYC Managed Service to market.
Malcolm speaks internationally on a variety of topics. He also sits on international committees including chairing the AML Working Group at Global Digital Finance, an industry-led initiative setting codes of conduct and best practices for the crypto-asset industry. He is an Associate Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute’s Centre for Financial Crime Studies in London.

Una Yu is Vice President and Director of Risk for Asia ex Japan, responsible for managing investment risk and operational risk across the Asia ex Japan region. Prior to joining AB in 2013, she was a senior risk manager for the Asia-Pacific region at ING Investment Management. Before that Yu was a senior quantitative risk analyst at DTCC, where she worked closely with quant developers on an interest-rate model for margin calculation and conducted back-testing and stress-testing analysis. She holds a BA in computer science from Boston College and an MS in quantitative methods and modelling from Baruch College.
